Enrichment

At St John’s, we believe that learning takes place as much outside of the classroom as in it, and so we are proud to offer a rich and diverse Enrichment Programme to complement our curriculum. We offer around 70 lunchtime and after-school clubs each week, catering to all needs and interests, to ensure our students are nurtured to grow in confidence and embrace their God-given talents. From sign language and STEM to keyboard, colouring and cricket, there really is something for everyone.  Our passionate and dedicated staff work hard to create a vibrant extra-curricular environment where every student has the chance to shine.

Wider Opportunities

Our extra-curricular opportunities ensure our students live life to the full and make incredible memories of their school years; there is never a dull moment within St John's!

For those with a love of the arts, we have regular theatre trips, artist and author workshops, performances and exhibitions.

For our sporting stars of the future we offer Sports Leaders’ qualifications, ski trips and many opportunities to participate in sporting fixtures, tournaments and competitions.  We are very proud of the commitment our students demonstrate in order to secure silverware for St John’s.

If you want to volunteer to help the local and wider community, we have many fundraising activities, events and expeditions.  From training as CAFOD Leaders to raising money for building works as part of our charitable expedition to Peru, then St John’s is the place for you.

As part of our Catholic Life, we have regular retreats, pilgrimages, Summer festivals and opportunities to reflect and support one another on our faith journeys.

At St John’s our students can pursue additional qualifications outside of the classroom in areas such as First Aid and Sports Leadership.  We are also a licensed centre for the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, delivering Bronze, Silver and Gold awards to enable our students to develop their team-building, leadership and physical skills.

During their time at St John's, many of our students have had the opportunity to take part in exciting international trips and once-in-a-lifetime visits to Canada, New York, Colorado, Kenya and India, as well as regular cross-curricular trips to the Lake District, Lourdes, London, Barcelona and Paris.

Wherever your interests and hobbies lie, our enrichment and wider opportunities will ensure you can live life to the full at St John's, making memories to last a lifetime.
