St John's Catholic School and Sixth Form Students Bring An Inspector Calls to Life at Beamish Museum
Sixty-five Year 11 students from St John's Catholic School and Sixth Form, Bishop Auckland, enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to Beamish Museum, where they took part in an engaging An Inspector Calls carousel of activities. Set within Beamish's immersive historical environment, the trip provided students with a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of J.B. Priestley’s much-loved play. Through a range of interactive activities, students explored the characters, themes and social context that underpin An Inspector Calls, helping to bring their GCSE English Literature studies to life.

Jack's Self-Belief Shines Through on GCSE Results Day
A student who overcame dyslexia to pass his GCSE exams is amongst the young people celebrating today. Despite joining St John’s Catholic School as a rather shy boy in Year 7, over the last five years Jack became a familiar and well-liked figure of the Bishop Auckland school’s community.

St John’s Students Enjoy Unforgettable Wimbledon Experience
Last week, 70 students from St John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College in Bishop Auckland enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Wimbledon, experiencing one of the world's most prestigious sporting events. The adventure began with a very early start, as students departed school at 2am and even managed to watch the England game on the coach journey south.

Students Inspired at Summer Festival 2026: Behold
A group of Year 9 and Year 10 students from St John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College recently attended the annual Summer Festival at Emmaus Youth Village, organised by the Youth Ministry Team. This year's festival was centred on the theme "Behold", encouraging young people to recognise God's presence in their lives, embrace new opportunities and respond courageously to the challenges and possibilities before them.
