In September, ten of our talented Year 7 students at St John’s Catholic School, Bishop Auckland were nominated to take part in an online assessment process for a place in the prestigious Parallel Academy. We are thrilled to share their names and celebrate their achievement:
Ada Anoke, Adelaide Wight, Emilia Ochman, Emily Lin, Ethan Palmer, Grace Crow, Jason Li, Katherine Jones, Miles Martin, and Teddi Davison.
The Parallel Academy is an incredible initiative designed to help students develop advanced reasoning and problem-solving skills beyond the standard Maths curriculum. This long-term programme offers small-group online tutorials starting in Year 7 and continuing for five years. It’s a life-changing opportunity that prepares students for Further Maths A Level, applications to top universities, and long-term success in STEM-related careers.
We are delighted to announce that all ten students have been accepted onto one of three levels of the programme and will begin their journey in January.
Special Congratulations
A huge well done to Emily, Grace, and Miles, who have secured a place on the Tutorial Programme, gaining one of only 400 places nationally. This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to their hard work and dedication.
We are incredibly proud of all our students and look forward to seeing where this exciting programme will take them in the future.
