KS4
The BTEC First Award in Health and Social Care allows students to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Sector as well as applying their skills to a work based context.
Students must complete two core units, two additional mandatory units, and a choice of optional specialist units. One of these units will be assessed externally and the remaining units will be coursework based.
Students will be assessed through coursework and an examined unit.
Students will take part in: role plays, discussions, interviews, listen to professional guest speakers from the industry and participate in relevant visits.
If you are good at applying knowledge to real life contexts, good organisation skills to meet deadlines and if your strengths lie in presenting information through report writing, presentations and role plays.
BTEC health and social care will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare you for further study, training and employment.
