HIGHER EDUCATION

We offer a structured programme of support for students who are applying to university, from guidance through the UCAS application process and student finance to university talks, visits and residential Summer Schools. We have excellent links with regional universities such as Newcastle, Durham, Teesside, and Northumbria and our Sixth Form is a partner school for a variety of supported and reduced offer schemes. We also provide targeted advice and invaluable support for students applying to Oxbridge and for those who are considering dentistry, medicine and veterinary work. This support includes ementoring, mock interviews, student shadowing and residential visits. The majority of our students will go on to higher education, studying a wide range of undergraduate courses at a variety of universities, both locally and further afield.

APPRENTICESHIPS AND EMPLOYMENT

University is not for everyone, which is why St John’s Sixth Form has dedicated staff who can offer advice on apprenticeships and employment opportunities, as well as providing support with writing CVs, letters of application and preparations for interviews.
