This term, 23 Year 8 students from St. John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College embarked on an unforgettable Outward Bound trip to the stunning Lake District, where they embraced challenges, discovered new skills, and created memories to last a lifetime.
The week was packed with exciting outdoor activities, including:
- Raft building – learning teamwork and problem-solving on the water.
- Ghyll scrambling – tackling rocky streams with courage and determination.
- Wild camping – experiencing nature up close and building independence.
- Star gazing – reflecting under the night sky and appreciating the beauty of creation.
Throughout the trip, our students demonstrated incredible resilience, teamwork, and self-belief, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones and forging new friendships along the way. These experiences not only strengthened their confidence but also reinforced the values of collaboration, perseverance, and respect that lie at the heart of life at St. John’s.
We are so proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing how these skills will continue to shape their journey.
