
Students from St John’s Catholic School and Sixth Form showcased outstanding talent and determination at the Year 9 and Year 10 District Athletics Competition, held in Shildon earlier this week.
Representing their Bishop Auckland school with pride, pupils competed against other local schools across a range of track and field events. Their performances reflected both strong individual ability and excellent teamwork.
Excellent Results Across Year Groups
Students delivered impressive results throughout the competition:
- Year 9 Girls achieved a fantastic 1st place overall, supported by several personal best (PB) performances.
- Year 9 Boys secured 2nd place, narrowly missing out on the top position to Hummersknot.
- Year 10 Boys finished in a strong 4th place, showing consistency across events.
- Year 10 Girls placed 5th, competing with determination against tough opposition.
Team Spirit and Confidence on Display
Staff praised how students represented St John’s throughout the event. Alongside strong athletic performances, pupils demonstrated confidence, self-belief, and excellent sportsmanship.
