At St John’s in Bishop Auckland, we are incredibly proud of our students’ dedication to their musical studies. Playing an instrument takes commitment, perseverance and countless hours of practice — and this week, we are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of students who have demonstrated exactly that.
Durham Music Service’s new Secondary Framework recognises young musicians who show ongoing effort and progress in their learning. The framework is designed to reward students for meeting key milestones, and we are delighted to announce that 12 of our students have now earned their One‑Star certificate, having achieved 5 out of the 15 statements in their category.
One‑Star Award Achievements
A huge congratulations to:
Neave, Sophie, Cameron, Archie, Zaak and Isabella — One‑Star Bronze Award
Tobias — One‑Star Silver Award
Evoline, Edie‑Rose, Melissa and Anthony — One‑Star Gold Award
These achievements are a testament to each student’s hard work, resilience and passion for music.
Looking Ahead: Two‑Star Awards
We are excited to see where their music lessons will take them next as they continue working towards their Two‑Star Awards. Their dedication to learning an instrument shows what can be achieved through patience, practice and a genuine love of music.
Congratulations once again to all our award‑winning musicians — we can’t wait to hear your next steps!
