Students from St John’s Catholic School and Sixth Form in Bishop Auckland took to the stage with confidence this week as they performed at the Durham Gala Theatre as part of the second annual Schools Drama Festival.
Performing in a professional theatre setting, St John’s students looked completely at home as they embraced this year’s festival theme, April Fools. Their performance, titled Cluedo Goes Wrong, was packed with humour and energy, drawing laughter from the audience throughout.
Devised by the school’s Sixth Form Theatre Company in collaboration with the KS3 Drama Club, the production showcased creativity, teamwork and a clear passion for drama. The performance was expertly supported by Miss Liddle, whose guidance helped ensure an entertaining and polished show.
The evening was a valuable opportunity for students to experience performing on a professional stage, and it is hoped this will be one of many similar opportunities in the future.
St John’s would like to thank the staff at Durham Gala Theatre for organising the event and providing such a fantastic platform for young performers.
