The Girls’ Football World Cup was held at St John’s on Friday, welcoming teams from our local feeder primary schools for an exciting and enjoyable day of competition. The event provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen links within our wider school community while promoting participation in girls’ football.
The competition was expertly supported and led by our Year 8 Sports Leaders, who played an integral role throughout the day. They helped organise fixtures, officiated matches and offered encouragement and support to the younger pupils, ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
This leadership opportunity enabled our Sports Leaders to further develop their confidence, responsibility and teamwork, while also demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and enthusiasm for school sport.
A huge well done to Thea, Emmy, Beau, Francesca, Ethan, Redden, Teni, Callum and Jessica for their brilliant leadership and commitment. You represented St John’s wonderfully and should be very proud of your contribution to such a successful event!
