St John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College is celebrating a landmark achievement after delivering its most successful performance ever at the annual BHCET Athletics Championships in Middlesbrough.

Students from across year groups represented the school with distinction, bringing home an impressive collection of medals and securing the school’s first-ever trophy at the prestigious Trust-wide event.

U15 Girls Crowned Champions

Leading the charge were the Under-15 Girls, who delivered a dominant all-round performance to win the Trust Shield and finish in 1st place. Showcasing strength across both track and field disciplines, the team demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the competition.

Their efforts were particularly remarkable in the medal tally, where they secured 8 of St John’s 13 gold medals, underlining their dominance and setting a new standard for athletic excellence at the school.

U15 Boys Push to Impressive Second Place

Not to be outdone, the Under-15 Boys team produced a series of outstanding performances to finish a narrow second overall. Their efforts on the track were especially impressive, highlighted by a superb gold medal-winning relay performance that drew praise from spectators and staff alike.

Their commitment and competitive spirit played a major role in the school’s overall success on the day.

Rising Stars Shine in U13 Teams

St John’s Under-13 Boys and Girls teams also delivered a number of exceptional individual performances. Notably, many of these athletes were Year 7 students competing above their age group, demonstrating both courage and promise as they took on older competitors.

Their contributions added to the overall medal haul and highlighted the strength of emerging talent within the school’s athletics programme.
