A Celebration of Faith, Friendship and Hope

A group of Year 9 and Year 10 students from St John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College recently attended the annual Summer Festival at Emmaus Youth Village, organised by the Youth Ministry Team.

This year's festival was centred on the theme "Behold", encouraging young people to recognise God's presence in their lives, embrace new opportunities and respond courageously to the challenges and possibilities before them.

A Day of Inspiration and Reflection

Throughout the festival, students participated in a variety of engaging activities, listened to inspiring speakers and enjoyed uplifting music.

The day also included the celebration of Mass with Bishop Stephen, who encouraged those present to live with faith, hope and courage.

A Powerful Rosary Walk

One of the most memorable moments of the festival saw more than 300 young people take part in a Rosary Walk.

Students journeyed together in prayer and reflection before gathering at the new Grotto of Our Lady at Emmaus Youth Village. The experience served as a powerful reminder of the importance of faith, community and shared spiritual journeys.

Responding to God's Call

The message of Behold challenged students to open their eyes to God's presence, recognise opportunities for growth and service, and face the future with confidence and determination.

It was a truly uplifting day filled with friendship, prayer, reflection and joy.

A huge thank you goes to the Youth Ministry Team and the staff who generously gave their time to support the visit and make the experience possible.
